NBC的DC喜剧《无能为力 Powerless》由Ben Queen开发，这部剧被形容为类似《办公室 The Office (US)》，但会加入DC的角色。原本该剧背景为一个在全美工作环境最恶劣的保险公司RetCon，因为他们身处的的是DC漫画宇宙，所以他们负责的是英雄及反派决战过后的烂摊子。不过近日该剧宣布修改一点设定，把主角的公司改为Bruce Wayne的Wayne Enterprises子公司 - Wayne Security，该公司开发产品以保护平凡大众，以免成为英雄及反派对决时的「附带损害」。在《油脂 Grease Live》演出的Vanessa Hudgens饰演Emily Locke，她刚于Wayne Security的研究开发部成为新任主管。充满信心﹑点子的她，发现她的期望远超过老板及同事，理解到不必有超能力才能当英雄的她，决定领导团体发挥出最大潜力。Danny Pudi扮演Teddy，是Emily值得信赖的知心伙伴，他喜欢弄点恶作剧，目的是为了让这个超平凡的办公室，多一点不平凡。Christina Kirk扮演Jackie，沉迷超级英雄，而且还在自己办公位置贴满肌肉发达型的英雄照，由于新来的上司超多无理要求，让她陷入新的工作生活形态。Ron Funches饰演在I.T.部门﹑天真无邪的Ron，他不像其他同事，仍然充满对超级英雄有孩子般的热情；Alan Tudyk扮演上司Del，没什么特长，自称为到处游学镀金的壕废柴。性格扭曲，超迷恋灾难的独裁上司。
