It has also proved hugely popular in the US, with the first series reaching an average audience of 6.3m viewers and the first episode drawing in a 28% share - more viewers than the first series of Downton Abbey.

IP Security Protocol (IPsec) also provides an excellent way to resist spoofing packets, but this protocol cannot be used due to deployment restrictions. Since it is usually impossible for the server side to require the ISP of the link initiator to implement address filtering or require it to use IP security protocols, more complex solutions are needed to resist this spoofing attack disguised as multiple addresses, which will be discussed later.
