“姑获鸟”是来自中国古代神话传说中的妖怪，有时以九头的样子显形。明代《本草纲目》里提到了它的由来，说是死去产妇的执念所化，抱着婴儿在夜里行走，怀抱里婴儿的哭声就化成了姑获鸟的叫声。《姑获鸟》根据这样的民间传说改编而来，母亲（穆婷婷饰演）由于难以接受孩子流产的事实，由此产生了一系列的精神问题，从而被别有用心之人利用，但最终在丈夫（樊少皇饰演）的关怀和自身母爱天性的帮助下康复。
