1993年埼玉县爱犬家发生4人相继失踪事件。两年后警方逮捕了经营宠物店的一对男女。被逮捕的是关根元（卒）和风间博子。通过“把身体变得透明”将被害者的尸体肢解并遗弃以达到消灭证据的目的。由于作案手法残忍，该案件成为当时震惊全日本的“琦玉爱犬家连续杀人事件”。在本案中被逮捕的两人于2009年被判处死刑，然而由于当事人证言的矛盾，该案的全貌仍未为世人所知。
